Businesses in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone change hands and names more often than the signs suggest. A hotel keeps its building and its phone number but takes a new name; a bar closes and another opens behind the same door. Directories tend to keep the old name for years.
In October 2026 we re-checked every place in this guide against its Google Maps listing and, where it has one, its own Facebook or Instagram page. This is what changed in the guide as a result. Some of these changes happened on the ground this year; others, like a hotel's change of name, happened earlier and we are only now catching up. We will add a new entry each time we run the check.
New in the Freeport
Oli Studios Subic Bay is the clearest new opening. It is a coffee and matcha bar with a self-shoot and professional photo studio at Block 1 Lot 6, Moonbay Marina, on Waterfront Road, run by the Oli Studios photography business. Its Instagram account has posted from the unit since early August 2026. The coffee bar runs from 10am to midnight and the studio from 10am to 9pm.
Late Coffee is a small coffee shop on Lincoln Street in the Central Business District. Its Facebook page is recent and active through October, with a loyalty card launched on 12 October.
New to this guide
These places are not necessarily new to Subic. They are new to this guide because this month we could confirm they are trading, from their own websites or recent posts on their own pages.
- Solea Pilates, a boutique Reformer studio on the third floor of the Fengfu Building on Rizal Highway, with classes of up to three people.
- The Coffee Lab Subic Bay, a specialty coffee shop on Rizal Highway in the CBD, open 7am to 11pm.
- Maple 28, an all-day restaurant on Labitan Street corner Dewey Avenue.
- Golden Sunrise Palace, a Chinese restaurant on Canal Road corner Aguinaldo Street that also hosts events.
- Hongyun Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant on Lincoln Street.
- Sabrosso Cafe, the café and restaurant at Buena Casa Hotel on Betty Lane.
- Bumble V Hotel, at the corner of Argonaut Highway and El Kabayo Road.
- The Shoreline Subic, a hotel at Moonbay Marina on Waterfront Road (see below).
Names we have updated
BUMA Hotel is now The Shoreline Subic
The hotel at Blk 3 Lot 2B on Waterfront Road, in the Moonbay Marina area, was BUMA Hotel and has traded as The Shoreline Subic for some time. The change is not new; what is new is that this guide now uses the current name. OpenStreetMap still marks the spot as BUMA Hotel, so if an older map or booking site sends you there, this is the place.
Hey Pretty Aesthetic Center is now Amvena
The aesthetic clinic on the second floor of the Block 47 Center on Rizal Highway now trades as Amvena Aesthetic & Wellness Subic Bay by AMMR Beauty. The operator, AMMR Beauty, uses the new name on its own website with the same phone number and address. Some review sites still list it as Hey Pretty Aesthetic Center Premium.
Closed
- BlackTail Bar & Restaurant, the Cuban-themed bar at Manila Avenue and Dewey Avenue, has closed. So has El Filo's Restaurant, Bar & Karaoke hub, which later traded at the same corner.
- Oli's Cafe and Restaurant, the restaurant at The Reef Hotel and Residences in Building 532 on Waterfront Road, is listed as permanently closed on Google Maps. It is not connected to Oli Studios.
