The shape of this guide
Subic's wet season is not a light drizzle. When it comes it tends to come in the afternoon, heavily, and then stop — which is a rhythm you can plan around once you stop treating rain as a ruined day.
The useful thing about a former naval base is that it was built with covered walkways, big interior rooms and a mall. There is more indoors here than the forest-and-beach reputation suggests.
What follows moves inside as the day goes on: coffee while it is still dry, a roof over the worst of it, and something warm at the end.
