Where Subic actually eats

The kitchens in Subic Bay are more varied than the reputation of a freeport suggests. Roasters, Korean grills, smokehouses and a few tables on the water, most of them within a short drive of each other.

These are suggested places from the guide, grouped into a starting route. Adjust the order, travel time and bookings to suit your day. Check current opening hours before setting out.

Day 1

  1. 727 Coffee & Co.

A coffee shop in Building 727 on Manila Avenue, which is where the name comes from. It opens at seven every morning and runs to eleven at night, later still from Friday through Sunday.

  2. Sky Garden Restaurant

Filipino restaurant on Rizal Highway at the corner of Aguinaldo Street, in the Freeport Central Business District.

  3. Sonamu

A Korean restaurant in the Subic International Hotel Complex on Canal Road, in the CBD. It opens at eleven in the morning and runs to eleven at night, every day of the week.

  4. Leonardo's Pizza Tradizionale

Italian pizzeria at Rotonda Food Park near Moonbay Marina in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, baking Naples-style pizza in a wood-fired brick oven.

  5. Meat Plus Cafe

Fast-casual steakhouse on Sampson Road in Subic Bay Freeport Zone that traces its roots to a 1990s Subic steak outlet, now the flagship of the wider Meat Plus restaurant group.

  6. BREAD TIME

A bakery on Rizal Highway in the CBD, next door to Coco Lime. It keeps a landline and one set of hours across the week, and is a separate business from the Coco Lime and Breadtime record listed elsewhere.

  7. Blu Cafe

Cafe on Waterfront Road listed as open 24 hours, with a bar section running from 5pm.
