Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ), which most people call SBMA after the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority that runs it, is spread out, and a café search on a map can send you to the wrong end of it. The CBD holds the largest cluster. Harbor Point has its own mall row, and a handful of cafés sit out at the Waterfront, the Gateway end, Binictican, Cubi and the forest.
This article sorts the cafés we list by district first and by use second: working, a slow breakfast, a stop after a trail, and coffee in the late evening. Everything below comes from our place records and the venues’ own pages. We say plainly where a record is silent. Whether a café offers Wi-Fi, for example, is not published for any of them.
Where are the cafés in SBMA?
Most cafés in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone are in the Central Business District (CBD), on and around Rizal Highway, Manila Avenue and Dewey Avenue. The rest are scattered: one cluster inside Ayala Malls Harbor Point, and single cafés at the Waterfront, the Gateway end of Argonaut Highway, Binictican, Cubi and Ilanin Forest.
Distances are long by the standards of a town centre, so a car, a taxi or a ride-hailing app helps, and getting around Subic covers the options. If you are staying in the CBD you can walk to several of the cafés below. If you are at Cubi or Binictican, plan the trip on the map rather than expecting to drop in.

Which cafés are in the CBD?
The CBD has the widest choice of cafés in the Freeport, from specialty coffee bars to a drive-thru chain store and a few small neighbourhood counters. They are listed here roughly from the busiest part of Rizal Highway outwards.
- The Coffee Lab Subic Bay, on Rizal Highway, calls itself a third-wave specialty coffee bar with artisan bread, and links itself on Instagram to 2207 Coffee Roastery. It also serves pasta and an all-day breakfast menu.
- Starbucks, on Rizal Highway, opened in March 2026 as a two-storey store with a drive-thru. SBMA’s own news item on the opening describes it, and our record notes quieter upper-level seating meant for work and study.
- 727 Coffee & Co. takes its name from Building 727 on Manila Avenue. It keeps long hours seven days a week, and our record tags it for slow mornings and for laptop work.
- Hometown Cafe is at The Garden by Pacific Ace, at the corner of Rizal Highway and Aguinaldo Street. It shares its site with Bar Hometown and covers breakfast through to the evening.
- KapeHan is a ground-floor unit in the Times Square Complex on Rizal Highway. It publishes only a Facebook page, with no website, phone number or posted hours, so look for it on the way rather than planning around it.
- Sabressa, on Dewey Avenue, is a café, deli and pizza counter at one address, with a long day that starts early.
- Ugga Mugga Cafe, in the Regulatory Building on Labitan Street, is the original branch of a small local brand. A second branch is inside Ibis Styles Subic, described by the hotel as pet-friendly and built around Balinese-highland beans.
Which cafés are inside Ayala Malls Harbor Point?
Ayala Malls Harbor Point, on Rizal Highway, holds several cafés and bakery counters under one roof, which makes it the easiest place to find a café when the weather turns. Our records list hours for only some of them, so check the place page before you go.
- Kafe de Atjeh is an Indonesian-inspired coffee shop on the third floor, near the cinemas. Ayala Malls Harbor Point announced the opening on its own Facebook page.
- The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has a branch inside the mall, serving the chain’s brewed coffee, teas and ice-blended drinks.
- Sefina’s is a bakery and café in one: a pastry counter to take away and tables for those who would rather stay.
- BreadTalk has a kiosk on the ground floor in front of Puregold, according to the mall’s own social posts. The operator is 333 Foods Inc.
For food rather than coffee at the same mall, the restaurants at Harbor Point have their own article.
What about cafés outside the CBD?
Outside the CBD there are single cafés worth a deliberate trip, each tied to its own part of the Freeport. They suit a detour on the way somewhere else better than a spontaneous walk.
- Lincoln Street: Late Coffee, a short way south of Rizal Highway, is a small coffee shop with flavoured coffees, matcha and a rotating special menu.
- Waterfront: Oli Studios Subic Bay pairs a coffee and matcha bar with photography studios at Moonbay Marina on Waterfront Road. It opened in mid-2026. Sabrosso Cafe, at Buena Casa Hotel on Betty Lane, opens early and serves breakfast.
- Gateway end: BRU Café is in Building 1137 on Palm Street, at the Argonaut Highway corner. Le Charmé Cafe is a café, confectionery and deli in the La Terraza building on Palm Street. Its published hours are inconsistent, so check before you go.
- Binictican: High Peak Roastery roasts its own beans on Binictican Drive and pours them in the same building. Zubakery Café, also on Binictican Drive, is a takeaway and pickup counter for cakes and pastries, taking orders by phone or text.
- Cubi: View Café is the daytime café at Acea Subic Beach Resort on San Bernardino Road. Levata Restaurant & Cafe on Bohol Street describes itself as Italian fusion and serves coffee alongside pasta and dessert.
- Ilanin Forest: Ilanin Bay Cafe is a small café on Ilanin Road in Ilanin Forest West. It is a young listing with little published about it.
Where can you work from a café in Subic?
The cafés most suited to a laptop are Starbucks, 727 Coffee & Co., Hometown Cafe and BRU Café, going by how our records describe them. None publishes whether it offers Wi-Fi, and we have not checked, so ask at the counter before you settle in for a day.
- Starbucks has the one feature our records state outright for working: a quieter upper level meant for work and study.
- 727 Coffee & Co. opens early and runs late, which our record notes makes it useful for an early start and for working after the offices have emptied.
- Hometown Cafe is open from morning until evening and is tagged for laptop work.
- BRU Café is one of the few places at the Gateway end where you can sit with a laptop after dark, according to our record.
If you are planning a longer stay, the guide to working from the bay pairs cafés with apartments, a gym and a weekend escape. It is a better starting point than this list for anything longer than a day.
Where can you have a slow breakfast in Subic?
For a slow breakfast, the cafés that serve food as well as coffee and open early are the ones to look at: The Coffee Lab, Hometown Cafe, Sabressa, Sabrosso Cafe and Levata. Each is a café that keeps a kitchen, so you are not limited to a pastry.
- The Coffee Lab serves an all-day breakfast menu alongside its coffee and artisan bread.
- Hometown Cafe runs from early morning through to the evening, so breakfast need not be rushed.
- Sabressa has a deli counter beside the coffee, which means the first order of the day need not be a hot one.
- Sabrosso Cafe, at Buena Casa Hotel on Betty Lane, is tagged for breakfast and opens early in the morning.
- Levata serves Italian-leaning dishes and dessert from the morning on, away from the malls on Bohol Street in Cubi.
The slow-morning guide builds a whole morning around this, with first light on the water and a walk with no destination, and it is the better read if you are starting from the room you slept in.
Where should you stop for coffee after a trail?
After a forest trail the closest options are Ilanin Bay Cafe in Ilanin Forest West and High Peak Roastery in Binictican, with View Café at Cubi for a stop near the bay. All three sit away from the CBD, so you pass them on the way rather than choosing them from the centre.
- Ilanin Bay Cafe is a small, daytime-only café on Ilanin Road. Its record shows no phone number, website or price list, so treat it as a stop on the way through.
- High Peak Roastery has steady daytime hours and Instagram as its only published channel. Our record notes that it covers a slow start and a long afternoon at a table.
- View Café at Acea Subic Beach Resort is the resort’s daytime café, on San Bernardino Road at the Cubi end of the Freeport.
Where can you get coffee late in the evening?
The cafés that keep the latest listed hours are Oli Studios Subic Bay, 727 Coffee & Co., BRU Café and The Coffee Lab, with Starbucks also listed as open into the night. Closing times shift by day, with the longest hours listed for Fridays and Saturdays, so confirm before you head out.
- Oli Studios Subic Bay lists its coffee bar in its own Instagram bio as open late every day, later than its photo studio.
- 727 Coffee & Co. stays open into the late evening, and later still from Friday to Sunday.
- BRU Café runs late on Fridays and Saturdays.
- The Coffee Lab lists itself as open into the late evening every day.
Which are the bakery stops?
The bakery stops are Zubakery Café on Binictican Drive, BREAD TIME on Rizal Highway, Sefina’s in Harbor Point and the BreadTalk kiosk in the same mall. They suit a takeaway more than a long sit, with the exception of Sefina’s, which has tables.
- Zubakery Café bakes cakes and pastries to order; its page names a caramel chiffon cake as a best-seller. It is takeaway and pickup only.
- BREAD TIME is a bakery on Rizal Highway next to Coco Lime. It is a separate business from the Coco Lime and Breadtime listing elsewhere on this site.
