People search for “Subic beach” expecting one place. There is not one. The Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ), which most people call SBMA after the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority that runs it, has a free waterfront promenade, a day-use beach club, a resort beach on the forest side of the bay and a shoreline that is closed to anyone not staying the night.
This article sorts them by how you get onto the sand. Fees appear only where an official page shows them, with the date we read it. Where a rate or a rule could not be confirmed, it says “check before you go” rather than guessing. Every place named here is also on the map.
Which beaches are inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone?
Inside the Freeport the named beaches are the Waterfront stretch in the Central Business District, All Hands Beach on San Bernardino Road, Camayan Beach and Nabasan Beach on the forest side of the bay, and the shoreline in front of Acea Subic Beach Resort. SBMA named Waterfront Beach, San Bernardino Road, Triboa Bay Boardwalk, Tago Beach and Nabasan Beach as cleanup points in its 2021 coastal cleanup.
| Beach | Where | Access | Check before you go |
|---|---|---|---|
| Waterfront (SBMA Beach) | Waterfront Road, CBD | Free, open 24 hours as a boardwalk | Whether swimming is allowed on your stretch |
| All Hands Beach | San Bernardino Road, Cubi | Day pass or overnight stay | Current Beach Bundle price |
| Camayan Beach | Camayan Wharf, Ilanin Forest West | Paid, resort-controlled | Day-tour rate and days |
| Nabasan Beach | Nabasan Bay, Ilanin Forest West | Overnight guests of Kamana only | Book a room: day visitors are not admitted |
| Acea beachfront | San Bernardino Road | Private resort | Whether day guests are admitted |
Triboa Bay is a mangrove shore, not a swimming beach. Mangroves in the zone are protected under Republic Act 7161, which bans cutting them, and the Triboa Bay mangroves are a boardwalk and reforestation site. Tago Beach appears in SBMA’s cleanup report, but we have no listing for it, found no access details and cannot say whether it is open to visitors or safe to swim.
Is there a public SBMA beach in Subic Bay?
The nearest thing to a public beach is the Waterfront shoreline along Waterfront Road, which map listings call “SBMA Beach Park”. The Subic Bay Boardwalk there is free, open 24 hours and used for walking, jogging, cycling and picnics.
No source we found says swimming is permitted along that stretch, so do not treat it as a swimming beach. It is a promenade first. If you want to get in the water without a pass, ask the SBMA Ecology Department’s Protected Area (Beach & Forest) desk before you go, or use one of the beaches below that states its own rules.
Several hotels face the same shoreline, among them Vista Marina Hotel and Resort, a beachfront hotel on Waterfront Road, and Hotel Bahia Subic, which is a short walk from the Boardwalk beach. Seorabeol Grand Leisure Hotel is within walking distance of the Boardwalk. The rest of the Freeport’s hotels are sorted by district in where to stay in Subic.
Can you visit All Hands Beach for the day?
Yes. As of November 2026, All Hands Beach sells a day-use “Beach Bundle” at PHP 700 per head, covering 6am to midnight, according to the beach’s own accommodations page, which we read on 4 November 2026. Prices change, so confirm it with the beach before you travel.
The beach is on San Bernardino Road in Cubi and was a US Navy swimming beach from around 1956. Its official site describes a shoreline that slopes gently into calm water, a coral reef, and a marine turtle nesting site from October to February. It is run by Brighterday Subic Ltd., Inc. Family rooms with breakfast are also sold for overnight stays.
- The bundle lists aqua inflatables, diving platforms, bamboo huts and nipa sheds with ceiling fans, charcoal grillers, beach volleyball, a basketball half-court, siesta beds, floaters, wifi and hot and cold showers.
- You may bring food and drink at no extra charge. Raw food must be ready to cook, grilling is allowed, and other cooking, boiling and electrical equipment are not.
- Beer and soft drinks in glass bottles are not allowed on the sand; the house rules allow wine and spirits only on the table top. Pets are not allowed, audio equipment is prohibited, and fishing is not allowed.
- Aqua sports equipment needs approval before entry, and night swimming is allowed only in the designated area.
Does Camayan Beach Resort take day guests?
Camayan Beach is a paid, resort-controlled beach on the Freeport’s western shoreline, run as Camayan Beach Resort by Subic Bay Marine Exploratorium, the same operator as Ocean Adventure. Day-visitor rates are not published on the operator’s page, so ask the resort before you go.
The operator’s page puts the resort right next door to Ocean Adventure, lists its phone numbers and email for enquiries, and describes kayaking in the mangroves, snorkelling, diving, forest walks, horseback riding and beach games. SBMA reported in 2017 that the resort added a swimming pool, and the beach has cabanas and showers. The only day-tour figures we found were years old, so we do not print one.
Nearby, Adventure Beach Waterpark is a slide-and-pool waterpark at Camayan Wharf, not a sea beach, and it does not open every day, so check its page for the current days. Camayan Divers works from Camayan Beach for dive courses and fun dives, including the wrecks in a bay full of wrecks. Camayan Point is the headland past the beach and wharf, with no facilities listed.
Can day visitors use Nabasan Beach at Kamana Sanctuary?
No. Nabasan Beach sits in front of Kamana Sanctuary Resort and Spa, and the resort says day-trippers are not allowed: only overnight guests may enter the property. That is stated on the resort’s own site, so plan this one as a stay or skip it.
The resort sits between old-growth rainforest and Nabasan Bay in the West District of the Freeport, on the Bataan side of the bay. Its infinity pool runs level with the water.
What about Dungaree Beach?
Dungaree Beach is a name that turns up on Tripadvisor and other travel directories as a beach on Subic Bay, but we have not confirmed that it is open, who runs it, or what access and rates apply. A user-generated Tripadvisor listing describes All Hands Beach and Dungaree Beach as sister beaches in a private cove off San Bernardino Road; no official source confirms that either.
Until it is confirmed, treat any Dungaree price you see as unverified and ask before you set out. If you want the same stretch of coast with rules you can read, All Hands Beach publishes them.
Where are the beaches outside the Freeport?
Outside the Freeport fence, the beach resorts cluster in Barrio Barretto, on the Olongapo side. Wikivoyage’s Olongapo page lists beachfront places along Baloy Long Beach Road and the National Highway there, and a general Zambales guide says most visitors come for the resorts around Subic Bay.
We do not list businesses outside the Freeport, so this article names none of them. Check each resort’s own page for day-use rules, because nothing here covers them.
What should you know about swimming safety and season?
The drier months, November to April, are the easier time for a beach day in Subic Bay. Olongapo and Subic sit in a PAGASA Type I climate with a dry season from November to April and a wet season from May to October, and the area is open to the southwest monsoon. The month-by-month picture is in when to visit Subic Bay.
- Follow the beach you are on. All Hands Beach tells parents to keep children attended at all times and lists the north and south seawall boulders, drainage canals and the backs of cottages as off limits.
- Do not leave belongings unattended. All Hands says management is not liable for lost items.
- All Hands Beach says a marine turtle nesting site on its shoreline is active from October to February.
- We found no lifeguard, jellyfish or current advisory for the Freeport beaches in our research, so there is nothing to quote here. Ask the beach staff on the day.
Getting there is the other practical point. Jeepneys and tricycles do not run inside the Freeport, and sources disagree on whether Freeport taxis use meters, so agree the fare before you set off. Buses, vans and taxis are covered in getting around Subic.
Common questions
Is there a free public beach in SBMA?

Camayan Beach is paid and resort-controlled, but its operator’s page does not publish a day-visitor rate. Contact the resort for the current day-tour price and days.
