Pastolan (Aeta community)

Pastolan is an Ayta Ambala community in the Hermosa, Bataan portion of the Freeport, holding a Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title over roughly 4,356 hectares - about 45 percent of SBFZ land - awarded in 2004, the first such title inside the zone. The community was here long before the naval base and the Freeport that replaced it, and its language, Ambala Ayta, is documented in linguistic work on the area. There is no standalone public tour of Pastolan itself; guided cultural experiences with Ayta hosts are more commonly booked through the forest-trail operators working nearby than at the settlement.
