Ilanin Forest (East and West)

Two SBMA conservation districts covering the Freeport's western forest: Ilanin Forest East (919 ha, strict conservation) and Ilanin Forest West (1,224 ha, allowing recreation at developed nodes).

Ilanin Forest is split into two SBMA planning districts. The 919-hectare East side is a strict conservation zone with only limited, low-intensity recreation allowed. The larger, 1,224-hectare West side permits medium-intensity development within specific nodes — Camayan Beach, Ocean Adventure, and Zoobic Safari all sit inside it — while the forest cover elsewhere in the district stays protected.
